The HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS THROUGH THEATRE FOR DEVELOPMENT FESTIVAL activity was initiated by an organization called COMMUNITY FOCUS GROUP based in Kayole in Nairobi and is being organized in Nakuru by NAKURU YOUTH FOUNDATION in Collaboration with Alter Entertainment Youth Group, Simba Cultural Group, Reformed Youth Group and the office of the Director of Social Services (Nakuru Municipality), forming the Nakuru Chapter Mobilization and Implementation Committee.

A workshop was organized that took place on the 12th to 14th of August 2010 at the Sizzling Water Resort along the Nakuru - Eldoret highway just past the Ngata Railway Bridge. The aim of the workshop was to dissect into some of the major Human Rights Principles that directly relate to young people with the aim of understanding the youths' rightful position and thus their responsibility.

The workshop was a success with over fifty (50) youth, women and disabled groups' leaders attending. Below are some pictures highlight the workshop:
